Biggest Firm in Catanduanes’ Absorbs Additional Workers to Curb “ENDO”

Virac, Catanduanes- In its latest ENDO report, DOLE Bicol announced to tri-media yesterday that a total of three hundred thirty (330) contract workers in the island province of Catanduanes have been voluntarily absorbed and regularized by one of the biggest firm operating in said island since its fist voluntary regularization cycle in October last year.


“We’re getting continuous-positive results in our campaign to end ENDO in Bicol. We hope that this would continue,” DOLE Bicol regional director Atty. Ma. Karina Perida-Trayvilla said.


The Cua Group of Companies here has released the final list of their additional 99 absorbed and regularized workers this July to add to their previously regularized 231-contractual employees last year.


“DOLE Catanduanes personally handed over to me during the TNK last July 24 the verified list of papers of additional regularized employees” DOLE Bicol asst. reg. dir. Rovelinda A. Dela Rosa said.


The absorbed and regularized workers are from the various businesses operated by the Cua’s such as the Powerzone Gasoline Station, Virac Sunrise Saver’s Supermart, VTC-ACC Corporation and ACC Hypermart.


DOLE Bicol however said that the time-line given by the office for voluntary regularization has already lapsed and companies still not adhering with the ENDO directives are now being issued a Compliance Orders.


“I believe that we have given our local establishments here opportune time to adhere with the ENDO directives. If still they did not follow, rest assured that we will be strictly implementing it by means of a compliance orders,” Atty. Ma Karina Perida-Trayvilla ended – fin.
