Security Guards Receive P355, 432 Worth of Monetary thru SEnA

Naga, Camarines Sur– Ten (10) security guards in a private security agency in Camarines Sur got their monetary benefits through the Single Entry Approach (SEnA) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) last February 18, 2020.

Mr. Noriel Camasis, 40 years old of Buhi, Camarines Sur was among the security guards who filed request for assistance through SEnA last January 17, 2020 in the provincial field office of DOLE in Naga City.

He complained about the non-payment of their agency on overtime, regular and special holidays, 13th month pay and separation pay.

Camasis added that they were also underpaid.

A series of mandatory conference was conducted in January and February 2020 which was facilitated by the SEADOs namely Athena M. Florida and Carlos Onding.

Camasis was grateful to the intervention of the office thru the SEnA program as they were able to receive in cash the long overdue benefits, including their separation benefits after serving seven (7) years in the said agency.

 

“Salamat po sa mabilis at maayos na serbisyo at sa pagtugon po sa aming hinaing na makuha ang aming benepisyo,” he said.

“It was actually a concerted effort of Mr. Onding and I as SEADOs in the conduct of conciliation-mediation with both parties. We encouraged them to cooperate and at least arrive at a win-win solution to prevent the complaint in becoming a full-blown labor case,” Florida said.

Further, Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales lauded the cooperation of both parties and the immediate settlement and payment of monetary claims.

He encourages workers to visit our office and seek assistance on labor employment issue thru SENA to facilitate amicable settlement. 

“It is part of our duty to settle complaints thru SEnA to prevent them from ripening into full blown disputes or labor cases,” Gonzales stressed.

“We would also like to remind our employers to observe compliance of labor standards to avoid disputes and further strengthen rapport with their workers. Never hesitate to seek assistance from us, so we can give you advice, or offer solutions and alternatives to the problems,” he added.
