Best-DOLE Assisted Livelihood Project

Legazpi City, Albay - Mr. Alexandro S. Condat of Tiwi, Albay, a beneficiary of DOLE livelihood program bagged the award for Best DOLE-Assisted Livelihood Project under individual category on August 7, 2020.

He was awarded for his Bamboo and coconut shell craft production.
Before the pandemic, Condat was a maker of lampshade made of bamboo and coconut shells, earning a minimum of 11,000 to 15,000 salary per month.
But when the COVID-19 pandemic strikes, he has come up with an alternative source of income through coconut pot business. But this new venture is not enough to sustain their daily needs. He can only manage to sell a maximum of 2 dozen coconut pots per day, with each piece priced at P60.00.
With the cash aid given by DOLE amounting to P30,000 Condat said that he will use it as a capital to grow his business.
“Malaking tulong po ito sa aking pamilya sa pandagdag puhunan at pangtustos sa pang araw araw na pangangailangan at sa pag-aaral ng aking anak na mag 2nd Year College na ngayong pasukan,” he added.
Condat was given a plaque of recognition and cash last August 7, 2020 at the Activity Center, DOLE Bicol, Legazpi City.
Present also during the awarding were RD Joel M. Gonzales, Albay PFO Head Leah Dy and Albay Livelihood Focal Olga Ludovice./ISO PR Code:2020_gud_August_7_Bamboo, Coconut shell craft maker wins DOLE-Assisted Livelihood Project
