303' Marginalized workers' in Cam Sur get Livelihood Starter kits
 
Camarines Sur –Around 303 marginalized workers from two towns in Camarines Sur received livelihood starter kits under the DOLE Kabuhayan Starter Kits (DKSK) Program last August 21 and August 28, 2021.
 
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Bicol led by Regional Director Ma. Zenaida Campita, Ceso III facilitated the distribution of livelihood assistance to qualified beneficiaries in Sagñay, Camarines Sur.
 
A total of P5,089,000.00 worth of livelihood packages was distributed to 264 recipients of Sagñay, starter kits such as “padyak” or pedicab, negosyo cart.
 
Meanwhile, Buhi Weavers Association with 39 members from Barangay Sta. Justina, Buhi, Camarines Sur was granted weaving materials, tailoring, and dress-making equipment amounting to a total of P500,000.00.
 
DOLE Bicol seeks to aid workers and enhance existing livelihood undertaking of the informal sector in LGU Sagñay and LGU Buhi, Camarines Sur with the provision of necessary assistance under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).
 
RD Campita said that the livelihood kits are among the DOLE Bicol’s programs in response to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic wherein many have been affected, especially those who got displaced from their jobs and lost their livelihood.
 
Beneficiaries were advised to keep sitll despite the current challenges and hope will always be present. Thus, the government programs and services will always provide opportunities for those in need.
