Displaced workers in the informal sector in Cam Sur receive livelihood packages from DOLE

 

 

In its bid to help workers in the informal sector, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Bicol thru its Camarines Sur Provincial Field Office recently awarded a check amounting to P881,114.94 to LGU Libmanan on Friday at the Office of the Mayor, Libmanan, Camarines Sur.

 

The said amount is intended for the livelihood projects of 36 beneficiaries with various livelihood undertakings which include welding, carpentry, masonry, hair & make-up service, ice cream, food and kakanin vending.

 

Present during the awarding ceremony were DOLE Cam. Sur Provincial Head Ma. Ella E. Verano, Libmanan Mayor Jesus F. Camara, LDS Vivien Leigh Mae T. Hernandez, PESO Manager Epifanio Borras and Municipal Treasurer Carlo Espinosa.

 

DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program or DILP is a flagship program of the DOLE which seeks to contribute to poverty reduction and reduce vulnerability to risks of the working poor, vulnerable and marginalized workers either through emergency employment, promotion of entrepreneurship and community enterprises.
