Legazpi City, Albay - To assess the performance and implementation of employment programs across the Bicol Region and continuously capacitate the program implementers, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Bicol hosted the 2022 Year-End Planning and Assessment (YEPA) for the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) at the Gamboa’s Orchard, Malilipot, Albay that commenced on January 18 to 20, 2023.
At least 151 PESO managers and Job placement officers from the six (6) provinces of the region actively participated in the said activity.
In her opening message, DOLE Bicol Regional Director Ma. Zenaida A. Angara-Campita expressed her gratitude to PESO officers for the support and active participation in this annual activity despite the bad weather and tight schedule of some program implemeters.
She recognized the active role of PESO in building solid bridges to ensure that DOLE programs and services reach even the farthest of the communities, thus, overcoming barriers to employability and accelerating inclusive recovery.
Day 1 of the PESO-YEPA kicked off with an overview of learning sessions presented by incoming Regional Employment Focal Ma. Janette Alpajaro.
Regional employment program implementers presented updates on the job fair, Career Guidance and Advocacy Program, Special Program for Employment of Students, National Skills Registration Program, and Status Report on PESO Congress.
Meanwhile, the newly elected 2022 PESO Managers Association in Bicol Officers took oath on Wednesday which was administered by RD Campita. Outgoing Regional PESO Federation President Diosdado Rañeses handed the symbolic key to Ms. Rodresha Torallo of PESO Camarines Sur.

Assistant RD Atty. Marion S. Sevilla said in her opening remarks during the awards night that PESO remains a vital office in bringing workers closer to building meaningful career opportunities.
“ We, therefore, encourage you to continuously be committed to empowering and capacitating our workforce --- strengthen our resolve to find the “right person for the right job.” Let us work together in solidarity, rebuild in better ways, and translate these efforts towards sustainable and equal employment for the public,” ARD Sevilla concluded.
Further, DOLE Albay Provincial Office got the Best in Festival Presentation and Best in TikTok.
Day 2 started with a recap of the activity on Day 1; followed by a substantive discussion on the Labor Market Information and Child Labor and its Worst Forms by Mr. Ryan R. Delos Reyes, Sr. LEO of DOLE NCR.
The afternoon session included a condensed orientation on DOLE’s mission and vision and its 8-point agenda by Ms. Leah Dy, Planning Officer III, followed by the crafting of 2023 Action Plans.
Day 3 activities include the directive and policy direction of the Regional Director and presentation of the 2023 Action Plan per province.
