Catandunganons continue to receive gov't aid from DOLE

 

CATANDUANES – Around 200 beneficiaries of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Worker (TUPAD) were delighted as they received their salaries on Tuesday in the total amount of PHP730,000.00 through DOLE’s accredited money remittance center after rendering a 10-day work period.

DOLE Catanduanes Provincial Office spearheaded the said payout in San Andres and Virac, Catanduanes to said beneficiaries from the municipalities of Virac (88), San Andres (87), San Miguel (14), Bato (6), and Caramoran (5). Each beneficiary received a salary of PHP3,650.00 for the 10-day work of road cleaning, debris clearing, and segregation in their respective barangays.

One of the beneficiaries, Alvin Jay O. Tagle, of Belmonte, San Andres, an out-of-school youth beneficiary is thankful to DOLE and AKB Partylist as accredited co-partner for this opportunity that made him productive and valuable to his community.

Present during payouts were Mr. Kim Zuñiga, DOLE DPO TUPAD Focal, Jayson de Leon, TUPAD Program Coordinator, and Mr. Domingo B. Go, Ako Bicol Provincial Coordinator.

TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
